Fusion TCP/IPv4 Basic Stack for Nexperia

Overview:

The Fusion TCP/IP Software Stack, from Unicoi Systems, supports these Nexperia Processors from NXP Semiconductors: PNX1500 (including PNX0190 and PNX9520), and PNX1700 processor families. The stack is available in two versions: a Binary Linkable-Library version available at a relatively low-cost, and a Full Source Code version. Fusion works with NXP's NDK development software (the NDK must be purchased separately). Wireless networking is fully supported by the Atheros WiFi drivers for the NDK.

The Fusion TCP/IP Stack protocol suite provides developers a highly portable, embedded stack designed specifically for embedded applications. With its 20-year history, the Fusion Embedded TCP/IP Stack is the most widely used network protocol stack in the world with thousands of design wins and millions of Fusion Network-enabled products shipping. The Source Code version of the basic Fusion embedded TCP/IP stack includes source code for TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, ARP, RARP, TFTP, BOOTP and IGMPv2. Optional security may be added to Fusion TCP/IP with IPsec.

Includes:

  • TCP/IPv4
  • DHCP Client
  • DNS Resolver
  • Telnet Server
  • FTP Client & Server

Features:

  • Static routes
  • Zero copy API for high performance
  • BSD Sockets compatible with support for the most popular socket options
  • Documentation, sample test programs
  • DSP and microprocessor support
  • 100% ANSI C compliant for guaranteed portability
  • Support for Scatter Gather
  • Unique Call up design that greatly reduces Stack Usage
  • Priority enhancement to allow routed packets to have a lower priority to enhance
  • Quality of Service for locally consumed voice packets
  • Support for on demand routing
  • Support for priority packet queuing on the device driver
  • A straightforward device API makes device interfacing extremely simple
  • Only 5 function calls are required to interface with an RTOS
  • Heap allocation mechanism that ensures deterministic memory usage
  • No RTOS or hardware timer dependencies
  • Build-time configuration options to tailor functionality and capabilities
  • Run-time configuration to dynamically control the operating environment
  • Royalty-free license

TCP/IP RFC Compliance:

  • RFC 768 (UDP User Datagram Protocol)
  • RFC 791 (IP Internet Protocol)
  • RFC 792 (ICMP Internet Control Message Protocol)
  • RFC 793 (TCP Transmission Control Protocol)
  • RFC 813 (Window & Acknowledgement Strategy in TCP)
  • RFC 826 (Ethernet Address Resolution Protocol)
  • RFC 896 (Congestion Control in TCP/IP Inter-networks)
  • RFC 903 (Reverse Address Resolution Protocol)
  • RFC 1058 (Routing Information Protocol)
  • RFC 1112 (Host Extension for IP Multicast)
  • RFC 1122 (Requirements for Internet Hosts – Communications layers)
  • RFC 1144 (Compressing TCP/IP Headers for low speed links)
  • RFC 1256 (ICMP Router Discovery Messages)
  • RFC 1323 (TCP Extensions for High Performance)
  • RFC 1349 (TOS Bit Type of service In Internet Protocol)
  • RFC 1388 (Routing Information Protocol V2)
  • RFC 1644 (TCP Extensions for Transactions T/TCP)
  • RFC 2001 (TCP Slow start congestion avoidance)
  • RFC 2018 (TCP Selective Acknowledge Options)

License:

The Fusion stack is licensed on a customer's Product basis. In other words, if you use the stack in only one of your company's products, using only one type of Nexperia processor (PNX1500 or PNX1700 family), then you only pay for one Fusion license.

For example, if you use Fusion in two of your company's products, even if they are the same except that one uses the PNX150x and the other uses the PNX170x, then they are different products from the Fusion License point of view, and you need to purchase two Fusion licenses.

For a given Fusion license, for a given customer's product, multiple people at multiple sites can use the license, as long as all the work is only for the same customer product.
