DAE-5 Digital Audio Engine

The DAE-5 continues MDS' long tradition of high performance, high quality OEM modules for AV Receiver and home theater system builders.

The DAE-5 is based on the Texas Instruments DA610, a 32/64 bit floating point part specifically designed for A/V Receiver and surround sound decoder applications.

There are multiple DAE-5 models available featuring various combinations of digital and analog inputs and outputs. In addition to multiple hardware models there are two major levels of standard software capability available to provide a better match to the needs of audio product developers seeking product differentiation at multiple price points.

The DAE-5 includes Performance Audio Framework software with support or all popular Dolby and DTS decoders, THX post processing, setup and bass management capabilities (please see the datasheet for a full list).

Using Texas Instruments' Code Composer Studio OEMs can add custom surround post processing and sound field enhancement capabilities, offering a level of customization that previously has not been readily available for OEMs in this application area.
