HDMI expansion kit for TI DA830 EVM

This two board kit allows developers of surround sound decoder systems to use TI's DA830 EVM board with Blu Ray players so that Dolby and DTS HD formats can be decoded. These two formats are only available from HDMI outputs.

The expansion board plugs into the 830EVM board's expansion connector and brings the appropriate McASP signals to two IDC connectors that are then connected to MDS HSR-4 HDMI repeater board. The EVM's audio card can also plug in to the expansion board so that HDMI input can be decoded and output as analog. Systems will normally send a stereo downmix to the HDMI output.

The HSR-4 HDMI repeater card is controlled via the standard Alpha messaging and has a very simple command interface for basic operations.

As the HSR-4 supports HDCP, customers must have a HDCP license before ordering this product.
